Kourtney Roy is a Canadian photographer and filmmaker known for her singular universe blending fiction, dark humor and self-staging. Trained at Emily Carr University in Vancouver and then at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, she uses self-portraiture to explore strange, cinematic and ambiguous worlds where the ordinary takes on a tinge of mystery. Her work has won numerous awards (Prix Picto, Carte Blanche PMU/Le Bal, Carte Blanche Pernod Ricard) and has been exhibited internationally. She is also the author of several photobooks and pursues a career in film, with award-winning short films and a first feature presented in 2024 at SXSW in Austin, Texas.
