Sorry, No Vacancy reveals a parallel universe overlaid on peripheral reality, through staged self-portraits set in isolated locations in southwest Texas, such as deserted roads and ghost towns. In them, Kourtney Roy performs symbolic rituals of self-transformation. The photographs evoke a cinematic and collective imagination that runs through the iconography of the American screen, mythology and folklore, creating a spiral of self-referential signs in which images echo other images endlessly.
